Shikari Devi Temple of Yogini Mata in Mandi
- On every summer vacation, we Himachal Pradesh people love to travel to the Deities and other famous places related to our Hindu Gods, Mata Shikari Devi temple is one of the most scenic locations and is located at one of the topmost hills of Janjehli Mandi.
- Â The temple is located at a height of 11000ft in the middle of the deep forest and Meadows Valley. Everyone travels there in summer to seek blessings and in winter the hills are covered with snow of about 6-7ft including the roofless temple and the magical statues of Mata Shikari Devi always remain visual throughout the whole winter.
- As per Historians and Local people, Rishi Markande visited this place and meditated for several years and asked Devi Durga Mata to stay in Janjehli hills and bless everyone later the temple was built by Pandwas of Mahabartha with stones and wood without a roof because Devi Maa didn’t allow a roof on her temple, later many pujari and local people want to build a rooftop on the temple but Devi Mata always denied for the roof. So this is the only temple without a roof.Â
- Locals and many believers sacrifice sheep, and Goats as a Bali for the well-being and Happiness of their family and others carry Coconut with Prasad and Chuni to get blessings.

Why is Maa Durga Called Shikari Devi?
When Pandaws came to Mandi for Agyatvas at that time they tried to hunt wild animals in Janjehli and near Durga Devi Temple established by Rishi Markande, So the Pandaws were not able to hunt in their hunting then they prayed to Maa Durga for blessings. they were able to get darshan from Devi Maa who blessed them, and then they hunted down a wild animal in Shikari Dhar Hill. After that, they built a small temple in Shikari Dhar Hill and called it Shikari Mata Temple.
