What is the History of Shaktipeeth Dham?
According to our Puranas, in the form of these 10 Mahavidyas, many forms emerged from time to time on this earth, who killed the demons and rescued the people. Where the form of this power was incarnated and demons were killed, there were Shakti Peeths. It is believed that in the time of Satyuga, when King Daksha insulted Lord Shiva, the husband of his daughter Sati, could not bear this insult and gave her Life in Havana.
After that, Lord Shiva began with Tandav in Mata Sati’s ordeal, which caused a great crisis on the whole earth, then all deities & Gods went to Vishnu and prayed to help, then Vishnu ji sliced the body of Mata Sati from his chakra and Shaktipeeth became where the mother’s body limbs fell on earth. In some Puranas, it is believed that there are 51 Shaktipeeth, and some believe there are 108 Shaktipeeth of Goddess Sati.
